Prof. Vinay Tergaonkar
Prof. Vinay Tergaonkar is an International Cancer Society (UICC) Fellow at Tufts University, Boston and a Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America Fellow (2001-2004) and Special Fellow (2004-present) at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, California. He serves on the Editorial Boards of several journals including Science Advances (American Association for the Advancement of Science), Molecular and Cellular Biology (The American Society for Microbiology), and Biochemical Journal (Portland Press). Work from his Lab received international recognition including the British Council Development Award (2014), the Premier’s Fellowship from the Government of South Australia (2015) and the University of Macau Distinguished Professorship (2019).
Dr. Semih C. AKINCILAR
Dr. Semih C. AKINCILAR received his MSc. degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics from the Izmir Institute of Technology, Turkey. He was awarded “Singapore International Pre-Graduate Award” and “Singapore International Graduate Award” fellowships and completed his PhD at National University of Singapore, School of Medicine in 2016. He continued his research career as a Research Fellow at Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology and awarded Young Investigator Research Grant in 2019. Dr. Akincilar has published has since contributed productively to the scientific community in reputed journals during his PhD and post-doctoral fellowship. He is expert in CRISPR editing, epigenetics and transcriptional regulation in cancer and inflammation. Currently, he is working as a Senior Research Fellow in Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, A*STAR.
Dr. Kerem FIDAN
Dr. Fidan is a molecular biologist with a strong focus on bioinformatics. He received his MSc degree in Bio-medical Sciences and Engineering from Koc University, Turkey where he worked on disease modeling using pluripotent stem cells. He was awarded “Singapore International Graduate Award” fellowships to continue his works on inflammation and completed his PhD at School of Medicine, NUS, Singapore. During his PhD, Dr. Fidan has also studied on transcriptomics and machine learning algorithms to decipher the relationship between gene expression profiles and disease phenotypes. With his wet lab and bioinformatics experience, Dr. Fidan is currently working on the development of bioinformatics platforms for large scale data analysis and cost-effective cancer diagnostic kits using machine learning algorithms.
